Portagrow at the 2013 Oklahoma Orchid Society’s Spring Mothers day show & Sale

Hello again from Portagrow!  I hope some of you got the chance to go to the Denver Orchid Society's 2013 spring show at Tagawa Gardens in Denver.  It was a great show even with the blizzard that came through Denver Friday and Saturday.  There were plenty of beautiful orchids to see and photograph, including my first to be submitted for judging that won several awards (see the picture below).  The DOS had two orchid vendors and Portagrow at the show.  The orchid vendors brought hundreds of gorgeous plants to sell and they went fast.  The two vendors were Enthropic Orchids from Denver, http://enthropicorchids.com/, who has a great variety of orchids on display and also sells some of Portagrow's products and New Earth Orchids from Santa Fe New Mexico http://www.newearthorchids.com  they are a larger scale orchid nursery who attends many shows here in Colorado, and also sells some of Portagrow’s products.

This spring Portagrow will be on the road again traveling to Oklahoma City where we will be one of the vendors in the Oklahoma Orchid Society’s Spring Mothers day show and sale being held at the Will Rodgers Garden Exhibition Center located at 3400 NW 36th Street, Oklahoma City, OK.  We will be displaying our Pocket Greenhouse with our popular Six Tier Grow Stand with HDS, our best selling Three Tier Grow Stand with HDS, and our most affordable Two Tier Grow Stand.  All of our displays will be on sale during the show and will be at 20% off our normal price.  We will also be selling all of the beautiful orchids used in our displays which have been provided by Fantasy Orchids in Louisville Colorado. So this year you will not only be able to take our beautiful display plants home, but will also be able to take any of our display products home, at the end of the show, with out the wait or shipping costs. 

We haven't been to the show in Oklahoma before so it should be a fun trip.  The show should be great, with several orchid vendors selling plants to benefit the Oklahoma Orchid Society and many wonderful exhibits.  Vendors and exhibitors will present their exotic plants from around the world and there will be an information booth to answer your questions concerning growing and blooming your orchids.  There are many types of rare and unusual orchids to be seen and the Will Rodgers Garden Exhibition Center is a great place to see the displays.

Sunday May 12th, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

Portagrow and the 2013 Denver Orchid Society Spring show

Hello again from Portagrow!  We have had a busy fall and winter traveling through Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rico, Panama and Columbia, where we enjoyed seeing many different types of orchids in their natural environments but unfortunately we missed the fall orchid shows that we normally are vendors at so now it's time to get back to work.

This spring Portagrow will be one of the vendors in the Denver Orchid Society's 2013 spring show and sale being held at Tagawa Garden Center located at 7711 S. Parker Rd. Centennial, CO 80016.  Their web site is http://www.tagawagardens.com/ .  We will be displaying our Pocket Greenhouse with our popular Six Tier Grow Stand with HDS, our best selling Three Tier Grow Stand with HDS, and our most affordable Two Tier Grow Stand.  All of our displays will be on sale during the show and will be at 20% off our normal price.  We will also be selling all of the beautiful orchids used in our displays with all of the proceeds being donated to the DOS at the end of the show.  So this year you will not only be able to take our beautiful display plants home, but will also be able to take any of our display products home, at the end of the show, with out the wait or shipping costs.

Some of the past vendors at the DOS spring show have been Enthropic Orchids in Denver, http://enthropicorchids.com/, who have a great variety of orchids on display and also sell some of Portagrow's products.  Another from last spring is New Earth Orchids from Santa Fe New Mexico.  They are a larger scale orchid nursery who attends many shows here in Colorado.  http://www.newearthorchids.com.  The DOS has yet to announce who the vendors will be at the 2013 spring show so as soon as we hear from them we will post them here.

Portagrow at the Kansas Orchid Society Show & AOS meeting

Portagrow is on the road again this spring and will be a vendor at the Kansas Orchid Society Show & American Orchid Society Member Meeting in Wichita, Kansas.  This should be a great show for orchid enthusiasts.  There are eleven vendors, including Portagrow, selling some of the best orchids from around the country.  There should be a large variety of plants to see as well as many fantastic displays.  An orchid lovers dream show!  We are looking forward to being a part of this large national show, our first, and surely not our last.  Please come see us at the show!  Here is the link for more information about the show: http://www.kansasorchidsociety.com/OrchidShows/Showindex.html

Portagrow will soon have our HO T5 grow lights listed on a highly regarded orchid supply website http://www.orchidlight.com.  They offer a wide variety of orchid supplies and we are looking forward to being included as one of their product suppliers.

We have been asked many times about offering smaller Pocket Greenhouse models; in the near future we will be introducing two new models that will fit our two tier, three tier,  and four tier grow stands with a much smaller footprint than our original Pocket Greenhouse.  We have been experimenting with size variations for quite awhile and are now working with our manufacturer on final design and pricing.  We hope to have these available in the fall for the Denver Orchid Society Fall show 2012.

Portagrow: ON THE GO!

Hello again from Portagrow!  It's been awhile since our last post; we've been very busy changing our location and getting settled into our new space.  We are still located in Golden Colorado but our new location has more room for our plants, greenhouse, and operations.

The title of this post is Portagrow ON THE GO! because this month and next we will be involved in two Orchid Society shows.  One is the Denver Orchid Society spring show, themed: "The Orchid Round-up" at Tagawa Gardens Center, 7711 S Parker Rd Centennial Colorado 80016.  Follow this link for more information: http://denverorchidsociety.org/shows.html  The show opens on Saturday March 10th and runs through Sunday March 11th.  The DOS will be selling many varieties of beautiful orchids at the show.  They were provided by Fantasy Orchids http://www.fantasyorchids.com in Louisville Colorado,Enthropic Orchids http://enthropicorchids.com/ located in Denver Colorado, and New Earth Orchids http://www.newearthorchids.com in Sante Fe, New Mexico.  Portagrow will be selling orchids also from our display with all profits going to the Denver Orchid Society.

There are several front range orchid society displays and also many DOS member displays, all offer beautiful orchids to see and photograph.  The displays are set up and ready to go, so please come see us this weekend at the Denver show.
